  Command Mission
Naval Nuclear Power Training Command is the starting point for all prospective naval nuclear propulsion plant operators. Over 3,000 enlisted and 400 officer personnel who meet the program's tough selection standards begin training each year. Enlisted personnel enter Nuclear Field "A" School following the completion of recruit training. Nuclear Field "A" School teaches the fundamentals fo three different rates using hands-on training in equipment laboratories specifically designed to teach technical skills.

  "A" School
Usually, Electrician's Mates and Electronic Technicians have their own classes but not in this case. We are the first combined Nuclear Field "A" school class since these two rates (EM's and ET's) go through 4 of 5 classes that are the same and those classes include Basic Math, Basic Electricity, Electronic Fundamentals, and Digital Microprocessors. After DMP, we split and go to our last class. EM's go to Equipment and ET's go to Instrumentation and Control.

Nuclear Field "A" School: 03.01.2001 to 08.10.2001

  • August 10, 2001: Fireman Wang becomes EM3 Wang after successfully completing the course of instruction for "Electrician's Mate" at Nuclear Field "A" School. Also, he is awarded the "Commanding Officer's Personal Excellence Award". How you like that?
  • July 23, 2001: FN Wang combats poison ivy.
  • March 25, 2001: FN Wang transforms from a teenager to a young adult.
  • March 1, 2001: FN Wang leaves RTC and arrives to his new command...NNPTC.
